Add compression on top: if it's below spec, fuel simply won't ignite the way it should.

When to check a diesel

A diesel doesn't always send "loud" signals. More often it starts running a bit differently — and it's easy to blame that on fuel, the weather or the car's age.

  • smoke has appeared (black, grey or bluish);
